Red Bull X-Ray Update Freestyle is done

Taka - a deserving winner

taka

Taka threw down a near flawless, run featuring a massive seat-grab flip to score a massive 216 points which Robbie Maddison couldn't find an answer to. Maddo's score of 199 points (same as he scored in the first final) was basically a flip trick short of Taka's score. In a last ditch effort he also hucked a seat-grab flip over the 120 footer, but it looked a little sketchy.

Final number two was a dissapointing end for Sincs (forth), who ended up scoring only 156 points due to using too much time spent on the back section of the course between scoring jumps. Talking to him after the run he said he was trying to avoid wasting the last two jumps hitting the small doubles in the bottom of the course under the Red Bull bridge. It appeard Maddo also fell victim to wasting time in the same area during his run.

Cam Sinclair, Mick Sinclair and Benny Foster admiring Maddo's handy work

Broadie Wilson's clean run rewarded him with third place overall with 162 points in what is a good result against the biggest names in freestyle.

The whip comp just finished as we speak and Lewi Woods just took it out.

Red Bull X-Ray Update Freestyle is done

clint

The riders and crowd alike were amped up for the speed and style finals after an awesome morning of FMX and massive whips. Marshall had been the hot favourite around the pits from first practice on Friday with his vast race and FMX experience. A head to head format was used, with tricks scored out of 10. Each point from your run took half a second off your lap time. First round winner Sincs, figured the best way to beat a racer was to stick it up the inside as far as possible in the first corner and slow the other rider down. Wedging himself between the hay bails and Kirk Gibbs both riders ended up going down in a cloud of dust. Sincs kept his bike going and got back on first, getting into his run of big tricks. Kirk couldn't put a pass on Sincs until the big double-double section at the top of the course which blew his laptime out to the point Cam easily took the win on points.

xray

Dan McCoy and Luke Styke were busting out some tidy runs combining their awesome speed with a surprising array of tricks for racers. DMC pulled Double Cans, Supermans and even a side show while Styke went for the more is more approach putting as many small tricks into each job as he could manage. Lawson Bopping even hucked a big Cordova over the 160ft double. Taka flipped more than anyone in his run and even though usually had one of slowest lap times his massive scores ensured his overall time was consistently at the top.

maddo

Maddo under rotated a Flip on the return jump in front of the judging tower and landed hard (although still on the bike) and although he took the win easily over Sauly, had to pull out from the second round. DMC moved in to take his place, with the next best overall to face off against Boppo.

The standings going into final two:

1) Tye Simmonds vs Cam Sincair 2) Robbie Marshall vs Luke Stykes

3) Lewis Woods vs Taka Higashino 4) Lawson Bopping vs Daniel McCoy

Sincs' hole shot tactic didn't work on Tye in the second round. He got caught up on a hay bail and went down, Tye managed to go wide around the outside and literally leave Sincs in the dust. Battered from going down Sincs got up to give chase but was feeling the effects of the crash and couldn't take it to Tye. Lewis was no match for another high scoring flip run from Taka and DMC stayed right on Boppo's rear guard while tricking all the scored jumps to take the second final.

The standings going into final three:

1) Tye Simmonds vs Robbie Marshall

2) Taka Higashino vs Daniel McCoy

Marshall showed Tye in final 3 that a fast run of Whips and Nac Nacs was not going to be enough to secure the top place on the podium. Marshall although not flipping, showed that combining fully extended grab tricks and fast pace between jumps to be the winning combination. Taka dispatched of DMC in his usual trick heavy fashion.

McCoy and Tye then faced off for the minor placing. As in the last round, Tye's lightning fast lap was not enough to make up for a lack of variation in his tricks handing the third place to McCoy.

Update on William Van Den Putte

Willam Van Crusty Europe

Finally things are getting better. This year was one of the most stressful years I've ever had. Shutting down my compound, Broke my foot, Crashed my mobile landing into a car, A lot of shows and business to take care, still with a lot of pain. But hard work always pays. that's a good thing! Thanks to the Racetrack "AMC Genk" back here in Belgium. They gave me the opportunity to build our new park in the middle of the racetrack. with 2 landings double wide. Competition set-up, Concrete run-ups, Fun box, wall ride still coming. And the foam pit is almost ready. It's a theme park for dirt bike riding. Also the Racetrack is a Grand Prix track. And we got some good plans for the future to make freestyle competitions. Huge speed and style track. Super cross. Actually If you take a look at the track there is a possibility to make a European X-games just right over here. So july was a crazy month. with all the stress, shows, things I had to work on. Lucky this month was a lot more easy. And the hard work is done. The only thing that's still a problem is my foot. The doctors told me, this is what its gone be. For riding it's ok. But if I take a long walk or twist my foot. It's hurting a lot. I hope it still gets better. But It already took so mush time. So the next show I have is in 2 weeks Morocco. I'm really looking forward or this. The concept of the show is like The European Riders Versus The spanish riders. So we got to compete against Danni Torres. And this Kid got some skills! It's gone be fun for sure. So that all news for now and soon I'll show you a video of the new track when It's all done.

Montey The Great!!

Montey The Great – An interview with a man who's not only great at handling his tools! levi sherwood's mechanic monteyThey say behind every great man you'll find a good woman, but this is not true in Levi Sherwood's case. He has in his corner one of the greatest motorcycle mechanics on earth, well one of the greatest to have ever held a Sidchrome shifter in his hands. His name is Montey The Great, AKA Stephen Montgomery, and we – being X-Fighter judge Brody Henricksen and myself (Goba) – caught up with the popular Kiwi mechanic as he tightened Levi's nuts at the London round of Red Bull X-Fighters to talk about what it's like to be so popular, how he puts up with the high demands from his boss, and what X-Fighters after party does he rate the best – plus other stuff that's not so important!

Brody – Montey, can you describe to us an average day your not at an event: My average day is pretty full on, wake up bright and early around 6am, wash bikes, make sure they're all prepped and ready for Levi to ride for the day ... Nah not really. I have a pretty good lifestyle, up around 9am, make sure the bike's fine, go riding and just hang out with the boys all day pretty much. I love my lifestyle and job. I'm around motorbikes and good people so can't complain really. Brody – So you get to go riding yourself: Yeah just on motocross tracks not freestyle at all. It's fun! Brody – The big question is when you go riding who wins between you and Levi: C'mon man do I really need to answer this one? Definitely me for sure! (Laughs). Nah, to be honest Levi would probably have me a little bit, but so he should because I'm half bung and crippled so I've got a good excuse. Brody – So when you're actually at an event what's your favourite part of being there: Afterparty for sure! Nah just hangin' out with everyone, it's always a good time.

Montey

Goba – I see you really come alive at the after parties Montey, which one's been your fav on the X-Fighters series so far: Russia for sure! It was amazing! Like when you walk in the door and their's chicks half topless dancing on top of a piano you know it's going to be a good night. Brody – So do you have any good after party stories where maybe it all didn't turn out how you expected in the end: Ahh, yeah, but I don't think we need to talk about that. All I'll say is I look after my boy pretty well, but sometimes he doesn't return the favour! (Laughs) Goba – So what's Levi like as a boss: To be honest I'm pretty much the boss. I tell him what tricks to do, and what he's doing wrong ... Ha, nah, Levi is real laid back as most people would know. He's fun to work with. Goba – So he wouldn't be half the man he is without you Montey: Oh yeah for sure, I help him out heaps ... I think, maybe? Brody – I heard a rumour on the street you're now being offered sponsorship contracts due to your growing popularity, can you confirm this: Yeah I'm talking to ESPN at the moment to make a reality TV show, every thing's going pretty well for me. Brody – How about personal sponsors, are they lining up: Not yet, I'm just reping Levi's sponsors at the moment. Goba – You're looking like a UNIT Xmas tree at the moment: Yeah they've, well, Levi has been hooking me up pretty good of late. It's good gear! Levi drops in.

Montey

Goba – So Levi are you starting to feel a little threatened by your mechanic who's popularity is on the move: Stuff yeah! Look at this guy, he's stealing all the media attention. Plus he's stealing my sponsors, look at all this stuff he's got man! I didn't even know Unit made that T-Shirt he's wearing, WTF! Montey: Yeah I've got all the latest Tees bro! Levi: Man, I don't even have new Unit Tees! Whatever! Not even fased! Goba – So Levi would you be lost without Montey: Yeah pretty much, I'd probably be riding that nugget over there (points to an old spare parts Honda in the next pit). Back to the man in the spotlight. Brody – Back to the serious stuff, at an event besides getting the bike ready do you actually help out with Levi's runs and keep track of what other rider's are doing: Yeah if he asks me questions I'll give him input, but he's pretty much got it under control, he knows what he's doing. Brody – C'mon Montey, cut the modesty, I've seen you sneaking around the course scouting for lines: Yeah true bro, I always go on missions to suss out if I can find hotlines or way's he can get around the course faster, and suss out where the judges are viewing from so he knows what tricks to do where. Goba – What are the main things you do to the bike: I'm always double checking things as I'm always worried about it falling to peices – spokes, triple clamps, general nuts and bolts, etc.

Montey

Goba – Have you guys had any Barney's or problems yet: No run-ins yet, fingers crossed! We only had one problem with the bike and that was in Egypt where the new bike had a dodgy carby, and that messed with Levi's head a little, but we got it sorted. Brody – Do you get on with the other mechanics in the pits: Yeah all the boys are good. Maddo's mechanic Hoody is always entertaining and has good stories to tell. You gotta meet that guy, he's a little different than the rest, in a good way! (Laughs) Everyone is awesome. Brody – Where do you hope Team Levi will sit at the end of the season: We got the silver medal at X Games, a win here in London hopefully (he won), and hopefully another win at the last round in Rome. If he wins that it'll be close for the overall, which would be nice. It's been a big learning curve for Levi so next year he'll only get better. Goba – Thanks for your time Montey, we know it's precious, all the best for your rocketing career, catch you soon bro, and try and remember us in a few years when we need a quick interview yeah: Yeah I'll try fella's, keep up the good work eh.

Crusty Demons announce bold new plans for Thirst 4 Destruction Tour

Melbourne, Australia (6 June 2010) – Today marks the beginning of a new era in the sport of freestyle motocross with Australia’s premier live sport and entertainment company Dainty Consolidated Entertainment announcing its future vision and commitment to the world's leading live action sports brand – The Crusty Demons.

Pioneering a new era for the Crusty Demons, ‘Thirst 4 Destruction’ will tour the country throughout October and November and will feature a completely transformed show, with more thrills, spills and FMX skills than ever seen at a Crusty Demons show before.

Utilising the extensive music and theatrical resources of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, the second generation of Crusty Demons promises to reign over live action sports entertainment and fans should only have one expectation - expect the unexpected.

As further testament to Dainty Consolidated Entertainment's commitment to not only the Crusty Demons brand but also the sport of freestyle motocross as a whole, a selection of the sports leading riders have signed up exclusively on multi-year deals.

The line up will include some of the biggest names in freestyle motocross from Australia, United States & across the globe whose lack of fear will be complemented by some of the world’s best stunt professionals attempting the unachievable with their motorised innovations.

The world-class rider line-up has been assembled over the past six months with its foundations built around Australia’s best freestyle motocross talent.

The Crusty Demons are proud to present the new King of freestyle, Jackson Strong, who hurled himself into the world record books for landing an awe-inspiring front flip at the recent Crusty Demons Regional tour at Cairns.

Selected as a firm favourite for the X-Games, the 18-year-old’s achievement has seen him issued with an invitation to compete at the renowned extreme sports event in California.

“I am stoked to part of the Crusty family,” said Strong. “One of the best parts for me is that I will now have input into the shows and direction of the Crusty Demons.

“For me, it is an awesome opportunity that will allow me to focus all my time on riding and perfecting my front flip without the worry of chasing jobs.

“It is exciting that Dainty Consolidated Entertainment have recognised us as elite athletes and offered long term deals like all other professional sports. I can’t wait to do front flips for everyone on the Thirst 4 Destruction Tour, that will be the only place for Australian fans to see me do the front flip,” Strong continued.

Flanking Lockhart’s wacko Jacko will be the notorious Kain Saul who played role reversal in 2009, becoming the first person to back flip a 257 kg, 100 horsepower Harley Davidson XR1200 Sportster. This has to be seen, to be believed!

“I feel honoured to be one of the first riders to sign up to a multi-year deal with the Crusty Demons,” said Saul. “As an athlete it is great to have my future mapped out and to also now have a say in the direction of the Crusty Demons.

“We are very fortunate to have the resources of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment behind us and we all share the common goal of making this best action sports show on earth,” Saul added.

Original madman Seth Enslow, who is a founding member of the Crusty Demons and world record holder for a long-distance jump at 175ft on a Harley Davidson, is also confirmed and you won’t believe what he has planned.

The brand new, never before seen show will unleash two months of thrilling action, kicking off in Perth on October 16, before carving a path of destruction across the country.

Excitement has washed over the fans and organisers alike in expectancy of more big announcements in the coming weeks including the remainder of the all-star team.

JACKO STRONG LANDS WORLD’S FIRST EVER 85 FT FMX FRONT FLIP!

The final stop of the Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Tour presented by Woodstock at Cairns, Queensland’s Cazaly’s Stadium today witnessed an unbelievable world first in freestyle motocross, with Jackson “Jacko” Strong landing the most dangerous and difficult of all FMX tricks, the mighty front flip.
After his first three attempts on tour ended in sensational crashes, Jackson Strong saved his best for the final leg of the Beyond The Apocalypse Tour. With the awestruck Cairns crowd of 6539 fans on the edge of their seats, Strong looked like he was going to disappoint as mechanical complications with his KTM dirt bike put the jump in doubt. But after a few minutes of frantic mechanical work and a final practice pass, Jackson launched himself into FMX history with a faultlessly performed 85-foot front flip, sparking wild scenes of celebration in the Cairns crowd.
“I’m super pumped,” exclaimed an ecstatic Jackson Strong, the nineteen-year-old CRUSTY DEMON madman from Wagga Wagga, NSW. “I was a lot more relaxed knowing it was the last show of the tour and the support from the Cairns crowd was fantastic. This time I was using thinner resi-mats and had moved the ramps to the full 85 feet. Now I just can’t wait now to do it at the X Games!”
Queenslander Kain Saul also set the crowd alight, back flipping the monstrous Harley-Davidson XR 1200 for the third time on this tour. Having lost control of the Harley in Bundaberg, Saul made the amazing stunt look almost graceful here in Cairns, landing smoothly and riding off.
“I’m stoked to land that one and ride out of it,” Saul explained. “That’s the best one since I landed it dirt to dirt last year.”
Other show highlights included Texan Caleb Moore back flipping a quad bike, Beau Bamberg doing some of the most ridiculous upside down whips and, of course, the beautiful Woodstock Crusty Babes.
The Crusty Demons have more FMX-mayhem planned for Australian audiences, so stay tuned to www.crusty.com for all the latest news.

MAY 19th, 2010

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/entertainment/7261793/crusty-demons-prank-almost-fatal

Things went a little bit south at AJ Hackett Bungy Cairns, in typical Crusty fashion.

Crusty Demon owner Dana Nicholson was seconds away from death after the Crusty Demon boys took things just a little bit closer to the edge than normal.

Dana had just completed a spectacular bungy jump strapped inside of a shopping trolley pushed through the air by none other than original Crusty Seth Enslow.

Things all seemed above board as the boys made a perfect landing assisted by AJ Hackett staff, that was until when heading back to the shore of the bungy lagoon jokingly the boys pushed Dana back into the water.

What they hadn’t taken into account was that Dana was still strapped into his bungy harness, which had been safely clamped to the shopping cart.

Dana and trolley slowly sank to the bottom of the lagoon and all hell broke loose, AJ Hackett staff and Crusty riders dived in to save him but were unsuccessful in hauling him off the bottom due to the combined weight of Dana and the cart.

On the floor of the lagoon and quickly running out of air he knew he had to take matters into his own hands and managed to free himself Houdini like from the secured harness but only after precious seconds had passed.

Fresh air never felt so good as he burst to the surface to much yelling and excitement from the Crusty boys, who had just about resigned themselves to the fact that they had in fact killed the boss!!

Dana’s immortal words once he reached dry land “I was determined that of all the life threatening stunts I’ve survived over the years, I wasn’t going to die this time inside of a ****in shopping trolley!”.

Stayed locked to www.crusty.com all the insane footage is on its way.

Check out how low the Chopper hung to capture the action. All pics gobadirt.com

Riding off home on my trusty Honda NX650 Dominator from two awesome days spent at Schuies this week I couldn't help but be in awe of Schuies ability to jump dirt hits. Sure he has the advantage of it being the jumps he built and has more time on them than any other rider, but still, when you witness the guy in action you'd agree he is one of, if not the best in Australia at jumping huge dirt hits.

After a day spent at his home compound and natural terrain set-up, which you can check out here if you missed it, a large crew of us rocked up to Schuies Dads property just outside Boonah where the famous TEN PACK awaited us. Fleshwound Films Jon Freeman and Dana Nicholson were amped for a big session with a heli booked for 10am. UNIT founder Paul Everest rolled on in with his whole design team in tow – he wanted them to get a feel for the real deal to inspire them back in the office – plus Jerry Bernardo was on hand with his silver tongue to add some voice overs for UNIT's Allan Hardy, who was capturing the action for an upcoming UNIT video segment, and not forgetting the most important ingredient the riders being Schuie, Robbie Marshall, Joel 'Balchy' Balchin, Jake Bowen, and Mick Hall, all keen to conquer the Ten Pack.

Matt 'schuie's' Schubring's ten pack
Schuie tricking the third set with Balchy hot on his tail

Watching the riders make their way one set of dirt to dirt hits at a time is a nervous deal as each set of the five is different in size, distance, shape of take off, so for them it was a daunting task. Obviously Schuie led the charge and had the whole five dialed in before too long, then Robbie and Balchy were the next to have a crack at the hardest in the line being the fourth set. Balchy, on his first crack at the fourth came in a little too hot and by not driving off the take off with enough gas his back end got bucked high and he landed nose heavy and his bike washed out with him crashing hard to the compact dirt. Crew rushed over to help him up and it was obvious he was in a lot of pain, cracked ribs looking like the culprit, so Paul Everest rushed him off to hospital to get checked out, hope you get well soon Balchy!

Matt 'schuie's' Schubring's ten pack
Schuie reshaping the hit that claimed Balchy

Seeing Balchy come down hard put the wind up all but Schuie. After reshaping the fourth hit with a shovel Schuie and Robbie were the main guys to keep on trucking as the wind came up strong. After a while it was looking like the day was over as the wind kept coming through the valley making it hard work for the riders. With the chopper and film crew waiting patiently a small opportunity presented itself as the wind backed off slightly. Schuie and Robbie made the most of it and dialed in a dozen or so clean runs through the Ten Pack while Jon Freeman hung out the chopper door capturing what will be epic footage in one of their next Crusty Films. Schuie was awesome to watch, Combo Flipping the third set, plus tricking the last two while Robbie stuck on his tail only metres away. It was an epic day considering the windy conditions, and as you'll see by the photos and video clips below, it was one of those days to be remembered in Aussie FMX. Thanks for the hookup Schuie, you rule man! – Goba

FLESHWOUND FILMS CREW AT IT AGAIN FILMING IN AUS......

FLESHWOUND FILMS
This was one of Schuies warm-up Flips over 120-foot ramp to dirt, wait till you see the sequence!

The word was out that Matt "Schuie" Schubring had a film session going down over two days at his compound and the Ten-Pack with Jon Freeman and Dana Nicholson from Fleshwound Films. I jumped straight on my bike and made the two hour trek rolling up just in time for the boys first session. The riders – Schuie, Robbie Marshall, Kain Saul, Jake Bowan, Joel Balchin, Steve Sommerfeld, and Mick Hall warmed up over the 75-foot ramp to dirt and 75-foot dirt to dirt while a pocket of afternoon sun shone through. That didn't last long, so it was decided it was time to hit up Schuies natural terrain hits on the other side of his property, and this is when things heated up. Schuie is the master of big dirt hits and that's why he builds them so faarkin huge. First up they hit the 110-foot to dirt hit, which is a good warm up as the run in is smooth and it pops the riders up nicely over the side of the hill and landing on a nice downhill lander. The boys had fun on this one, ending with six rider trains popping tricks at the same time. The afternoon rolled on as the clouds covered the sky and the light faded. Schuie, Robbie and Joel nailed the 180-footer, and the big step-up that claimed Steve Mini earlier int he year was a hit, but my highlight would have to be when Schuie sacked up and Combo Flipped the 120-foot ramp to dirt hit that the only other rider to hit was Robbie Marshall, its a big girl! Bilko is the only other rider besides these two to hit take it on, with Schuie explaining, "It's scares most riders!" I'll let the pictures tell the story from here as I gotta fly. Schuies cooking up breakfast and then we're off to the Ten-Pack, bring it on! Stay tuned for more photos and footage, cheers Goba.

MAY 7th, 2010

crusty demons

The Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Tour witnessed the triumphant return of Freestyle Motocross superstar Cam Sinclair today at Darwin’s TIO Stadium, with his successful landing of one of the sport’s most difficult tricks - the death-defying double back flip.

Cam Sinclair chose this steaming hot Darwin afternoon for his comeback to the FMX scene, following a near fatal crash while attempting his world-renowned double back flip in Spain last July. That night in Madrid, Sinclair under rotated the trick with the wreck resulting in multiple head, shoulder and internal injuries.

Following seven months of intensive rehabilitation, Sinclair was psyched and ready to once again put his life on the line. As the screaming crowd of 6232 Crusty fans watched in anticipation, Sinclair took several sighting runs past the ramps before launching into the mighty double back flip. After two full rotations Sinclair landed sweetly, dropped his bike, fell to his knees and kissed the ground in a sign of exultant relief.

“Words can’t describe how I feel,” said a greatly relieved Cam Sinclair in his post-jump interview. “I nearly lost my life nine months ago doing the double back flip and after the crash I’d look back and think how did I used to do that trick.

“But I kept the faith that I could do it again and I’ve done it here today,” Sinclair concluded. “It’s an amazing feeling. An absolutely amazing feeling.”

Earlier in the day Queenslander Kain Saul back flipped a massive Harley-Davidson XR1200 for the second successive weekend. Saul is the only man to ever land the Harley-Davidson back flip, which he did recently on dirt and again last Saturday on the Gosford leg of the Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour. On that occasion Saul landed awkwardly and has spent the past week undergoing daily physiotherapy on his injured back to be ready to flip the mighty beast here in Darwin. Today, however, Saul extended the ramps by two feet, reduced his approach speed and landed this insane trick with apparent ease.

“That felt great,” exclaimed the normally reserved Kain Saul. “I got it all the way round and landed it almost perfectly. I hit my butt on the seat and tweaked last week’s back injury a bit but it’s all good and it’s just great to get it done.”

Nineteen-year-old daredevil Jackson Strong once again came within mere centimetres of landing the most dangerous trick in freestyle motocross - the legendary front flip - for the first time ever on Australian soil. As with last weekend’s attempt Strong was a few degrees short of full rotation, causing him to flip over the handlebars headfirst onto the front wheel. With only minor bruising and a cut lip Strong declared he’ll be ready for another crack at the front flip at the Bundaberg stop of the Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour on May 15.

Other show highlights that kept Darwin fans on the edge of their seats included Texan Caleb Moore back flipping a quad bike, Aussie Ben Fiez attempting not one but two double backs flips on a mini bike, amazing freestyle combinations and, of course, the beautiful Woodstock Crusty Babes.

The Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour now moves on to Bundaberg and Cairns where it promises to deliver the wildest brand of FMX mayhem regional Australia has ever witnessed.

MAY 5th, 2010

crusty demons

Daredevil motorbike rider Seth Enslow has smashed the world record for the longest distance jumped on a Harley-Davidson.

He managed a leap between ramps of 55.99 metres - easily beating Bubba Blackwell's previous world record of 47.85 metres set in Las Vegas in 1999.

The stunt took place at Barangaroo, on Sydney harbour, today and is measured in feet because the previous records have been set in the US.

Asked if Enslow would now try to push the record further in future, a spokesman for Harley-Davidson told AAP: "I'd say so."

"That magical 200 feet mark is not far off and he was pretty comfortable today."

The stunt was 12 months in the planning and Enslow chose Australia for the location because he's got good mates here, the spokesman added.

His bike was pretty much a standard Harley-Davidson, apart from modified suspension.

In a previous attempt at the record, in an indoor arena in the US, Enslow injured himself badly, tearing a number of ligaments in his shoulder.

Seth Enslow will be performing at the Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Regional Tour in Australia. Come and see the legend live! Buy your tickets now

The Crusty Demons were the pioneers of freestyle motocross (FMX) and began in 1994 in the USA by filmmakers Jon Freeman and Dana Nicholson. Mind blowing tricks and world record jumps have made them the first name in FMX. Jon and Dana unleashed the groundbreaking video “Crusty Demons of Dirt” on the unsuspecting motocross world in 1994, featuring behind the scenes action of America’s pro motocross riders, their lifestyles and unparalleled daring talents. The DVD’s are one of the biggest selling action sports DVD’s of all time. Since 1994 the Crusty Demons home entertainment DVD series has become a phenomenon, creating FMX legends such as Seth Enslow, Mad Mike Jones and Brian Deegan. The Crusty Demons brand has further extended into live events, video games, magazines, clothing, motorcycles and many other consumer products categories such as BMX bikes and skateboards. The Crusty rider group, which comprises an ever-growing list of fearless riders have toured the world performing new and increasingly risky moves. The live shows were created in 1999 and were an instant hit with sell-out tours across Australia. Since then, the brand has taken shows into New Zealand, the USA, UK, Ireland and India. To date live tours have generated over $200m in ticket sales. The tours always feature the best line up of FMX riders available with new tricks, stunts, freestyling, quad freestyling, back flips, snowmobiles and mini motocross madness. Freaks, stunts, the Crusty Babes and some of the most extraordinary riding feats ever seen ensure that these shows are not to be missed. The Crusty brand continues its expansion into 2010 with more live shows across Australia, a new feature release movie in the works and live tours across the USA!

AUGUST 5th, 2009

MEDIA RELEASE – CAM SINCLAIR RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL IN MADRID AND HEADING HOME!

Injured Aussie Freestyle Motocross (FMX) star Cam Sinclair has been allowed to leave hospital in Spain and receive further treatment closer to home in Melbourne, Australia.

Sinclair has been under close observation in the Gregorio Maranon University hospital in Madrid since he suffered a near fatal accident while competing in the Red Bull X Fighters event on July 17. The crash occurred when Sinclair under rotated his now signature double backflip, during a head to head battle with US competitor Jeremy ‘Twitch’ Stenberg.

Sinclair was rushed to hospital and had emergency surgery for a severely lacerated liver, head injuries, fractures to his cheek and right shoulder and damage to his lungs and wind pipe.

Luckily surgeons in Madrid were able to stop the internal bleeding, ultimately saving his life.

For Sinclair, being home in Australia will be the most important factor in his recovery process.

“I just want to be home around all my family and friends. I can’t wait to just lie on my own couch, watch TV and let my body heal.” Cam Sinclair said.

At this stage Sinclair will be admitted into hospital in Melbourne, where further scans and tests will clarify the further treatment necessary, however Sinclair is expected to make a full recovery.

For Sinclair to be released from Hospital in Madrid, he was required to travel via a business class flight, with a paramedic specially trained to assist patients with air travel.

Special thank you goes to Motorcycling Australia, The Athlete Recovery Fund, Rockstar Energy Drink and Metal Mulisha for there assistance in getting Cam home, the organizers of the Red Bull X Fighters and his many great fans and supporters from around the world.

AUGUST 2nd, 2009

Aussie Blake Williams takes X Games Gold and Silver:fleshwound films

Finals
RANK NAME

4 Mat Rebeaud

Australian freestyle motocross (FMX) sensation Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams has taken Gold and Silver in his biggest competition event of the year, X Games 15, which was held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles this weekend.

The invite-only action sports event brings together the world’s best athletes to battle it out for Gold, Silver and Bronze in their respective discipline.

Williams collected silver in yesterday’s Moto X Best Trick, with a 360 Indian air and perfectly-executed cliffhanger flip to no-handed lander bringing the crowd and fellow riders to their feet.

With the judges proving hard to impress, Bilko dug deep into his repertoire of tricks today to take a deserved career-first gold in Moto X Freestyle by a single point after three runs.

The achievement also marks the first time an international rider has taken a Gold medal in the Freestyle category in the history of X Games.

The result is the ultimate reward for the 24-year-old from Baxter in country Victoria, who has now reached the action sport’s pinnacle.

“After being robbed of gold in the Best Trick event last night it really lit a fire under my belly to settle for nothing less than gold tonight,” said Williams, whose previous best X Games medal was a bronze.

“I am stoked, tonight was the one that counted and it was an amazing feeling to get the win in front of my Mum and Dad who flew over for the event.

“It has been a long couple of weeks and to be honest I actually didn’t have the preparation I would have liked.

“I want to dedicate the medal to the late Jeremy Lusk and Bronte Holland and also my mate Cam Sinclair who I should have been competing against tonight.”

The next event on Bilko’s schedule is the Wendy’s Invititional at Portland, the first of three FMX stops on the 2009 Dew Tour.

Ends.

JULY 20th, 2009

Cam Sinclair is in an induced coma in Spain after underrotating a double backflip. Cam was competing in the final of the Red Bull X Fighters event on Saturday when the accident occurred. A double backflip Sinclair had been attempting uncharteristcally underrotated and nosedived into the ramp. Footage of the accident shows Sinclair slam into the ramp and his bike crash on top of him. View video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RB-Qr75RSiQ Cam didn't move after coming to rest on the ramp.Knocked unconscious by the force of the impact and rushed to hospital where surgeons operated on a broken shoulder and ruptured liver. Since the accident Cam has been fighting for his life in a critical condition in Madrid. He suffered a broken shoulder, broken cheek bone, a ruptured liver and was knocked unconscious. Due to the rupture in his liver he had emergency surgery for internal bleeding. Thankfully surgeons were able to stop the bleeding. At this stage Cam remains in a critical condition, however has improved over night. He has opened his eyes and is responding to instructions to raise his arms and squeeze his fiance Brooke’s hand. This is great news, as there was bruising on his brain; the fact that he is responding to their commands is a really really good sign. Cam had qualified second for the finals and was hoping for his first X fighters win. We wish Cam and his family all the very best and trust he's in good hands and will make a speedy recovery.

MARCH 28TH, 2009

crusty demons

I cannot believe what I just witnessed. 17-year-old New Zealander Levi Sherwood just won the first round of the Red Bull X-Fighters. In his first major contest, Levi went head to head with reigning X-Fighters champion Mat Rebeaud and emerged victorious. Levi impressed every single spectator in the stadium with his insane extension and one-of-a-kind style. Tonight, Levi made FMX history and there has never been a better time to be a fan of the sport. If I'm not mistaken, Levi is the youngest rider to win a Red Bull X-Fighters event.

Finishing an impressive second place was Eigo Sato of Japan. This wasn't Eigo's first time riding Red Bull X-Fighters in Mexico City, but it was his first time placing in the top three. Eigo busted out all of his tricks with his signature style, but in the end, it wasn't enough to beat Sherwood.

Mat Rebeaud rounded out the top three, with a good run, but not one of his best. We all know what Mat Rebeaud is capable of and tonight, there seemed to be a bit something missing from his tricks. Regardless, Mat killed the course, getting in more hits than most and ending up with a solid third.

I just want to congratulate both Levi and Eigo for putting in such impressive runs and throwing a wrench in the spokes of the Red Bull X-Fighters results. What an awesome event. More to come. I'm going to bed. Adios! For more information, photos and videos check out redbullxfighters.com

MINI ROCKS NIGHT OF JUMPS

Steve Mini was rocking the NIGHT of the JUMPs / FIM Freestyle MX World Championships Germany’s capital city yesterday.

In the packed o2 World arena in Berlin he won the IFMXF Whip Contest together with Brody Wilson (USA), And then he did an

amazing qualification run and reached his first IFMXF final.

“Aussie” Steve Mini seems to feel better and better on European ground. In the final he did triple trick-combos, Lazyboy to No-Hand-Landing,

Superflip, Clickerflip and Suicide Flip to 1-Hand-Landing. He ended up 4th, missing the podium only by a few points. This reached Brody Wilson

with perfect extensions and his well-known style. 2nd place went to Brice Izzo with massive flip combos like Shaolin Flip, Tsunami Flip, Superman

Seatgrab Flip and Lazyboy Flip. But even that was not enough to beat Jose Miralles this day. He started a trick firework and did a No-Hand-Flip to

No-Hand-Landing in the Double-up and amazed spectators and the judges.

The next points of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championships Steve can collect at the NIGHT of the JUMPs Graz (Austria)

fleshwound filmsCRUSTY'S YOUNG LEVI SHERWOOD RIPPING IT UP ON THE CRUSTY UNLEASH HELL TOUR IN NZ..

FEBRUARY 20TH, 2009

Right now Levi is touring his native country as a member of the Crusty Demon Unleashed Hell Tour, and he's no new-kid-on-the-block either, as he joined Crusty in 2004 at the ripe age of 14, which is pretty impressive considering most kids that age are the ones cheering on the Crusty Demons from the stands, not jumping 75-foot gaps in front of thousands.

Levi feels right at home riding alongside the Crusty crew, with him saying, "Its a bit like family, you travel and hang out together, and get to know each other pretty well. I've been lucky to ride with some the worlds best and it always makes you want to go out and learn as much as you can. I love riding the Crusty shows as the fans are a lot more enthusiastic than at a lot of the other shows so it pumps you right up. Also riding with the worlds best pushes you as well. For someone who has never been to a Crusty show it's hard to explain how loud the crowd is; it's out of control!"

Christchurch show dedicated to amazing rider who tragically lost his life this week

The Crusty Demons performed in an emotion charged show in Christchurch(New Zealand) last night
following the shocking news that fellow rider and friend Jeremy Lusk had passed away.

Lusk, who was one of the world’s greatest riders, succumbed to the injuries he sustained from a horrific crash,
whilst performing a back flip Indy seat grab at a competition in Costa Rica on the weekend. He had been fighting
for his life in hospital but the severity of his head injuries eventually overtook him.

The terrible news was received on Tuesday evening and sent a shock wave through the Crusty Demons touring party. Lusk was
known by all members of the group and was a very close friend to a few, particularly American riding buddy Adam Jones.

The crowd of 6,000 inside Christchurch’s Westpac Indoor Stadium rose as one at the start of the show to partake in a minute’s
silence. The stadium was dark except for an image of Lusk on the big screen, which all of the riders looked up to with obvious pain and
emotion on their face. Once the show kicked off all riders performed amazingly and bravely.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone involved in the Crusty Demons are with Lusk’s family and friends at this difficult time.CRUSTY

FEBRUARY 10TH, 2009

RIP Jeremy Lusk
It is with great sadness that we report Jeremy Lusk succumbed to his injures tonight at 11:03pm PST. He was surrounded by his loving Mother and father, Chuck & Gina Lusk, his wonderful wife Lauren, his mother and father in law Lyne & Larry along with his closest Mulisha friends Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele & Erik Apple. He is now with our Heavenly Father and is at peace. We know he is performing sick tricks for all those in Heaven to crowds greater than we have ever seen. We will miss you Pitbull!

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

fleshwound filmsCRUSTY DEMONS UNLEASH HELL TOUR 2009 NEW ZEALAND UPDATES

JANUARY 26TH, 2009

The Crusty Demons Unleash Hell Tour will be the biggest and most extravagant youth sporting event ever to come to NZ.

The Crusty Demons shows are globally acclaimed. Each show will be a huge entertainment extravaganza and will be a rare chance for New Zealand fans to see the world's top Freestyle Motocross riders in action. If you want to see the biggest, craziest tricks in the world, come to a Crusty show.

The line-up includes world number one Nate Adams, X Games gold medalist Adam Jones, world number three Mike Mason, Jim McNeil and Nicky Danielson all direct from the USA. New Zealand's own Luke Smith is sure to provide some insane riding for his home crowd along with Levi Sherwood who is one of the biggest upcoming talents in FMX across the globe.

Also performing are Australia's number one Blake 'Bilko' Williams, with fellow Aussies Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin, Kain Saul and Cam Sinclair.

Global Action Sports Managing Director, Mike Porra, said that New Zealand Crusty fans will be blown away by this tour which features the biggest FMX stunts ever performed.
'We are so stoked to be bringing this tour to New Zealand. This is the full international show that is a much larger production than 2007 with more ramps, riders, bikes, pyrotechnics and entertainment. It is guaranteed to leave people gasping for breath and is all about getting the adrenaline pumping.'

Fans can expect to see more than 50 different tricks performed at the shows including the most death-defying trick in extreme sport, the double back flip, performed on a 200kg, 250cc dirt bike. Australia's Cam Sinclair will be performing the trick, which has only ever been completed a handful of times in history, only twice outside the USA, and never before in New Zealand. Audiences will also see various back flip combinations, where riders perform various FMX tricks whilst upside down in the middle of a back flip.

The tour will make its way around New Zealand in 2009
